N Batley
Limited is a family business now into the 4th generation. Mr
Norris Batley and his wife Elsie formed the company in the late
1950's.
He rented the
property and installed 6 second hand Dobcross Looms and a warping
frame. He then set about building the company into one of the
finest independently owned commission weavers in the country.
In 1960 he
bought his own purpose made weaving mill and by 1972, had re-equipped
the factory so it had the latest weaving machines in.
To expand the
company further, it was a family decision to start producing its own
collection of fabrics.
Nowadays, the
business has 20 employees. Our factory is equipped with 25
Dornier Weaving machines, 2 Hattersley Warping machines, 1 winding
frame and 1 Uster Healding machine.
Mr Batley's
saying was, "be versatile and be able to weave anything",
and this has stuck all through the company's life. From weaving
Industrial Polyester Fabric to the finest Worsted Suiting with Name
Selvedge. All fabric is manufactured on our own premises so our
quality can be personally assured at all times. |
